Neandertaler

Performance aan tafel

consists of a square white table with four white chairs.  Name tags are attached to the backs of each chair - one is labelled ‘performer’ and the remaining three are each labelled ‘audience.’  The table functions as an intimate stage, where short performances will happen daily for the audience of three.  Curious about how the participants will approach this scenario, artists from a wide range of disciplines will be invited. For each performance members of the audience will be personally selected by Neandertaler.

Performance Lab

For this years Art Pie Performance Lab invited Neandertaler to develop a project that focuses on the mutual, from one artist to an other, pass of ‘the stage’. Performance Lab is a platform for experimenting with life art; trajectories of exploration, use and examination of the human body. The sheer pleasure of working together, interaction and intuition are important ingredients of Performance Lab. It is the brainchild of MariĆ«lle Videler and was initiated in 2004. Her aim is to meet and bring together artists and audience within the world as a stage.
